This summer, the University Hill Neighborhood Association was awarded the City of Boulder Neighborhood Spark Grant—an inclusive community program where groups of residents can apply to receive funding for projects that will address specific area needs and create more sustainable neighborhoods. Projects can range from public art to neighborhood gatherings to community planning.

In partnership with the University of Colorado, Boulder, UHNA collaborated with local cartoonist Drew Litton to create an informative cartoon strip to include in the University's Welcome Bags (handed out to new student neighbors living in the Hill neighborhood). The bags, and the included cartoon, are meant as a way for permanent residents of the Hill neighborhood to connect with their new student neighbors and build a supportive dialogue between them.

Special thanks to Drew Litton, Susan Stafford - Director of CU Off-Campus Housing & Neighborhood Relations and the UHNA Executive Committee.
